Donor Grand Rounds

The Royal University Hospital Foundation is always seeking to provide donors with information on advances in healthcare and how programs have been enhanced through donor support. Donor Grand Rounds is one such way. The idea is an adaptation of "Physician Grand Rounds," a term often heard on television and in the media, suggesting a presentation on an aspect of patient care, followed by questions and answers and/or a hands-on related experience.

In 2012, donors had the opportunity to learn more about Audiology, a program of the Saskatoon Health Region. Guest presenters led participants on a journey from infant to geriatric audiology, emphasizing programs such as the Universal Infant/Newborn Screening Program. Read about one family's personal experience with the Saskatchewan Pediatric Auditory Rehabilitation Centre at RUH.

On past Grand Rounds, donors have learned about chronic disease management, cardiac electrophysiology, neurology, nuclear medicine, brain repair and robotics, and stroke.

Charlotte Douglas, Senior Audiologist, tests a newborn for hearing loss.

At RUH Foundation, we create excellence in health care by raising funds that anticipate and respond to needs for innovative research, education and patient care at Royal University Hospital.
