Why Give to RUH Foundation

Tribute and Memorial Gifts - Sheldon Rask

In memory of Sheldon Rask and in recognition of the nursing staff of the Oncology Unit 6100 at RUH in the words of his brother, Veryl. In Sheldon’s memory, friends and family made a donation to RUH Foundation.

Sheldon Rask farmed with his parents in the Canwood district northwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. At an early age, he developed a keen interest in farm machinery. He graduated from Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon with a Farm Mechanic Diploma.

Sheldon’s journey with cancer began on July 30, 2009 when he received a diagnosis of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Our world, as we knew it, changed forever as it shattered before our eyes. Sheldon put up a brave front as he started down a path of many unknowns. Nobody could predict what the future held in store.

Sheldon faced many challenges and overcame many hurdles. He would be triumphant at times. Needless to say, another road block, as he called it, would interrupt the planned recovery. His family stood at his bedside and encouraged him in his courageous battle.

Sheldon met some wonderful nurses on the Oncology Unit 6100. He couldn’t say enough about the nursing staff. He appreciated their hard work, dedication, caring and empathic approach which helped Sheldon preserver his challenges. In pursuit of everlasting life, he found and accepted Jesus Christ in his life. Sheldon departed peacefully from this world February 18, 2010.

Live well, laugh often and love much.

Your loving brother, Veryl Rask.
