Purple Day for Epilepsy Support

For information on the 2016 Purple Day events, click here.

Donations to the Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program may be made online.

The Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program has been operating since 2008 and wanted to share their success stories, promote awareness, educate and inform, and promote further development of treatment and programs to help the people of Saskatchewan. To help celebrate, the Saskatchewan program participated in the National event Purple Day.

2013 was the first year that RUH participated in Purple Day. One of the goals of the 2013 Purple Day was to raise the funds necessary to purchase video-EEG equipment. The painting that was presented to Dr. Tellez-Zenteno by artist Eduardo Urbano Merino was donated to the hospital and hangs in the RUH Main Mall across from Admitting.

On March 26, 2014 we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Video-EEG Telemetry Unit. Watch the 2014 Purple Day celebration on CTV and read about it in the StarPhoenix.

Visit the Purple Day website for more information.

For more information please contact Dr. José Téllez-Zenteno at jftellez@yahoo.com or leave a voice mail at 306.966.8011.

Donations may be made to the Royal University Hospital Foundation Epilepsy Fund by forwarding a cheque to Dr. J. Tellez, Royal Univeristy Hospital, Division of Neurology, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK  S7N 0W8 or online here.
