Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program

The Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program started with the arrival of Dr. José Téllez-Zenteno to the province of Saskatchewan in 2007. Dr. Téllez initiated a team of very dedicated and highly qualified people that have been working together for patients with epilepsy in Saskatchewan. With no dedicated bed or equipment and a lot of patients with epilepsy, this team of passionate people has been able, in a short period of time, to implement a program with provincial coverage to improve the quality of life for patients with epilepsy.

The Saskatchewan Epilepsy Program has been operating since 2008. One way to share their success stories, promote awareness, educate and inform, and promote further development of treatment and programs to help the people of Saskatchewan is to participate in the national event Purple Day. The goal of the 2013 Purple Day was to raise the funds necessary to purchase video-EEG equipment. In 2014, we are celebrating the arrival and installment of the telemetry bed equipment. Watch that story on Shaw TV. Read more about Purple Day here.

The program is changing lives. Hear from Desiree on CTV and Global, read about Tyler in the StarPhoenix and read about how a community came together to support a child here
