For more than twenty years, PotashCorp has been a generous supporter of health care in our community ~ investing more than $4 million for patients and their families at Royal University Hospital.

In November 2010, PotashCorp showed its generosity with a $1 million gift to the Royal Vital Care Campaign for the purchase of vital sign monitors in Labour & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This gift completes the funding needed to purchase vital sign monitors for mothers and their newborns at RUH. Read the news release.

Growing Together

Back in 1990, PotashCorp was the lead donor in a campaign to raise funds for the first MRI scanner in Saskatchewan by pledging $1.5 million in matching funds with the community. Thanks to its generosity and leadership, our $3 million goal was reached in short order. In appreciation for its health care philanthropy, the upgraded PotashCorp MRI Centre was dedicated in 2009.

Seeding the Future

During the Royal Care Campaign, PotashCorp donated $1.5 million for creation of the PotashCorp Chair in Clinical Research. Research Chairs such as this go a long way in attracting top physicians to RUH by offering them dedicated research time to carry out their work. The first appointment to the PotashCorp Chair in Clinical Research is a respected physician from Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, who will be relocating to Saskatoon soon. Watch here for details.

PotashCorp is also the presenting sponsor of our annual fundraising gala, the RUH Foundation Royal Ball. (pictured: two guests at the Royal Haunted Howl 2010.)
